谷戸城跡

谷戸城趾は、甲斐源氏の祖・新羅三郎義光の孫、黒源太清光の居城であり、別名茶臼山または逸見城と言われます。春には山全体に約400本のソメイヨシノや八重桜が時期をずらして咲き誇り、見事な景観に圧倒されます。外苑を回る遊歩道があり、木々の間から見る八ヶ岳や富士山、甲斐駒ヶ岳のパノラマが絶景です。平成5年、国指定史跡となり、史跡整備が進められ、郭や土塁などが昔のように復元されるなど、在りし日の姿がよみがえりつつあります。

Yado Castle is the residence of Kurogenta Kiyomitsu, the grandson of Shinra Saburo Yoshimitsu, the founder of the Kai Genji family.It is also known as Chausu-yama or Itsumi Castle.In spring, about 400 Someiyoshino (cherry trees) and Yaezakura (double-flowered cherry trees) bloom all over the mountain at different times of the year, creating an overwhelmingly beautiful sight. There is a promenade around the outer garden, and the panoramic view of Mt. Yatsugatake, Mt.Fuji and Mt. Kai Komagatake from the trees. In 1993, the area was designated as a national historic site, and is now being restored to its former glory.
